World market of gas-cylinder NGVs is rapidly growing. Number of NGVs running on methane has exceeded 11 mln. NGV legislation and supporting infrastructure are developing at accelerated rates. Number of automatic compressor station gas fillers has overcome 17 thousand and is heading towards 20 thousand. National and regional programs of natural gas use as motor fuel are either approved or actively elaborated. Under the forecast of WOC 5 SG 3 IGU OEM NGV park potential is assessed as follows: about 50 mln. vehicles until 2020 and more than 100 mln. until 2030.
Gazprom continues implementation of the Dedicated Complex Program «Development of gas filling network and NGV park». Activities comprise cooperation with gas filling equipment suppliers, establishing new infrastructure facilities in various regions of the country, strengthening interaction with state and municipal authorities, economic and scientific centers, international organizations and foreign partners.
The aim of the conference «Gas into engines» and the target of already traditional OEM NGVs caravan is to advance further development of the market of natural gas as most environmentally friendly and economically feasible type of motor fuel.
Besides, the conference is aimed at further development and maintaining in Russia of the accumulated in the former Soviet Union knowledge and experience in natural gas use as motor fuel. The focus of the conference will be also on actual issues of Federal legislation in gas motor fuels use, current status and prospects of gas motor fuels world market and expanding OEM NGV produce in the Russian Federation. Another target of the conference is to provide within the current world trend growth of the interest both in vehicles manufacturers and consumers of transportation services to methane, the cheapest, safest and easy to get HC fuel.
